Who are we & what do we believe?

Seasons Church was founded in 2011 by Rev Joey B. Fine and a faithful group of families who began meeting at the Holiday Inn in Prattville, Alabama.  This gathering was only supposed to be for a 6-week time period to allow for those families to be able to worship and continue to serve and grow the kingdom of God.  After 2-weeks, several families met to discuss the future.  

During that meeting, it was proposed that a new fellowship be formed, and those families were asked to become charter members in the founding of a new church.  The feeling of those in attendance was one of great excitement, and once it was discussed with the rest of those attending regularly, Seasons Church was born.  This group continued to meet at the Holiday Inn for several more weeks, and then began renting Fitness South for their church services and the two office spaces on either side of Enterprise Rent-a-Car.  In 2013, the church purchased and relocated to its current location at 926 Selma Highway in Prattville, Alabama.

Bro Joey passed away in January 2021, but in honor of the Savior we serve and our on-going commitment to serve this community, our church voted to continue moving forward with the Kingdom work they began in 2011, and we invite you to come and experience what God is doing today in our fellowship.

We believe that God is eternal, having always existed. We believe that God is the creator of the heavens and earth, and that he created mankind (both male and female) in His own image. We believe that God is one God, yet he exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ, the son of God, came to redeem mankind from sin and fully restore in them the image of God. We believe that Christ is God in the flesh (having eternally existed with the Father and the  Holy Spirit), that he was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. We believe that Christ's sacrifice on the cross and the shedding of His sinless blood, for those who believe, is the cornerstone of our salvation. We believe that his bodily resurrection from the dead is our guarantee of eternal life.

We believe that mankind is fallen and sinful and the image of God in mankind marred as a result. Sin is defined as any act or intention that stands contrary to God's revealed will or His character and nature.

We believe that the redemption and salvation purchased for humanity through Jesus Christ is obtained and granted solely by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that no act of goodness or morality, nor any religious act, can earn an individual's redemption or salvation. 

We believe that through faith and grace alone, God washes our sins away by the blood of Christ and grants us forgiveness and eternal life. We believe that repentance (intentionally turning away from sin) is evidence of genuine faith. Because God gives man eternal life through Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the believer. It is the grace and power of God that gives this security.

We believe that the Holy Spirit of God is given to each believer in Jesus Christ. We believe that each believer receives various spiritual gifts according to the will of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit is an agent of regeneration in the believer's  life. We believe He affects real and lasting change in each true believer by empowering and leading them toward godliness and the imitation of Christ. The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the son as God. All gifts should be used to glorify God and done in order and in a Biblical manner.

We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ. We believe Christ will return for His people - the church (both the dead and those still living when He returns.) We believe that God will judge the earth and bring all things to justice. We believe that those who reject faith in Christ will be judged for their sins and separated from God forever in Hell, a place of eternal punishment. We also believe and proclaim that those who have received Christ will spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

We believe that the Bible is God's Word. We believe it is infallible, unchanging, eternal and trustworthy. We believe it is God's standard and the basis of all truth. Any statement, action or mindset that stands in contradiction to God's Word, either in part or in whole, we reject as false.

Seasons Church follows the sacrament of the Lord's Supper (communion).  Communion is open to ALL believers who have professed Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and we take great pride in welcoming fellow believers to participate when we celebrate communion together. 

Seasons Church follows the sacrament of baptism. We believe that baptism is an outward expression of an inward change, and we practice full submersion baptism for those who have made a public commitment to Jesus Christ and wish to follow Him in this way.
